Nicotine Salts
Nicotine salts absorb into the bloodstream faster than freebase nicotine, and at higher strengths — typically 10mg or 20mg — without the harsh throat hit that makes high-strength freebase unpleasant to vape. That combination makes them the closest match to the experience of smoking, and the default choice for anyone switching from cigarettes or disposable vapes.
This collection carries 159 nicotine salt e-liquids from £1, including bar salt ranges designed to replicate disposable vape flavours in a refillable 10ml format. For adult smokers and vapers aged 18 and over only.
Bar salts: the disposable alternative
Following the UK single-use disposable ban in June 2025, bar salts have become the go-to replacement for former disposable users. A bar salt is a 10ml nicotine salt e-liquid formulated to match the flavour profile of popular disposable bars — the same Blue Razz Lemonade, Watermelon Ice, or Kiwi Passionfruit Guava you vaped from a disposable, bottled for use in any refillable pod kit.
The cost difference is significant. A disposable contained roughly 2ml of e-liquid and cost upwards of £5. A 10ml bar salt bottle costs £1–£4 and delivers five times the liquid. Paired with a pod kit under £20, the switch cuts the cost of vaping by around 70% over a month.
Drifter Bar Salts are our own-brand range, manufactured in the UK and available in over 30 flavours. One ELiquids Bar Salts start from £1 per bottle.
Nicotine strengths explained
Nicotine salts are sold in 10mg and 20mg strengths in the UK, in line with TPD regulations. 20mg is the standard starting point for heavy smokers — the equivalent of a pack-a-day habit or former use of high-puff disposables. 10mg suits lighter smokers or those stepping down from 20mg after a few weeks.
The 20mg limit exists because salt nicotine is more bioavailable than freebase. At the same mg strength, a salt nicotine hit lands harder and faster — so 20mg salt delivers a more satisfying result than 20mg freebase would at the same wattage.
Which devices work with nicotine salts
Nicotine salts are designed for low-wattage, mouth-to-lung (MTL) devices — pod kits and starter kits running between 10W and 25W. Using them in a sub-ohm kit at 60W+ wastes liquid and delivers an unpleasant amount of nicotine too fast. If you have a high-powered device, use freebase e-liquid at 3mg or 6mg instead.
Most pod kits sold at 888 Vapour are compatible with nicotine salts — check the vape kits collection for device recommendations.
